Opened in 1997 the Community Center and Library became the center of the cultural life in the past few years. The Community Center also accommodates a library and since 2002 a new computer room too. Since 2010 Als\u00f3zsolca\u2019s Cultural Collection and its Sports Hall also became part of the institution.<\/p>\n
Well equipped and imposing the Community Center is situated in the center of Als\u00f3zsolca under the address 1. G\u00f6rgey Street.<\/p>\n
The Community Center\u2019s traditional celebrations include:
\n\u2022 National Holidays: 15th of March, 20th of August, 23rd of October.
\n\u2022 National Day of Hungarian Culture in January.
\n\u2022 In spring we host a musical talent show called \u201cA zene az kell!\u201d where everyone with a good voice can participate.
\n\u2022 In March we celebrate the International Women\u2019s Day with our special program called N\u0151i Szesz\u00e9ly.
\n\u2022 In April we celebrate Hungarian literature with verse telling and quiz programs.
\n\u2022 Every May we stage the annual \u201c\u00c9n t\u00e1ncoln\u00e9k veled\u2026\u201d dance meeting. We also host a Folk dance meeting with the neighboring towns.
\n\u2022 During summer we host many activities and camps for school children.
\n\u2022 September is the month for the annual Folk Song Meeting where neighboring towns meet for a friendly competition.
\n\u2022 Grape Picking Parade which takes place during the autumn months.
\n\u2022 In October we celebrate the International Day of Older Persons and the Library Week.
\n\u2022 In December we host the Advent Concert and candle lighting at the local church.
\n\u2022 We end the year with a huge New Year party.<\/p>\n
Above these events we host different kinds of exhibitions, writer-reader meetings, child and adult events and fairs too. The Community Center and Library also gives space for local gatherings and events too.<\/p>\n
